Private Online Instruction

Private online instruction is available on woodwind, brass, guitar, bass, percussion, keyboard, strings and voice. Our classes in academic music instruction includes music theory, music history, basic improvisation and songwriting. Classes are taught on a per semester basis (8 lessons per semester) or as an individual class upon instructor approval. Click here for more private instruction/ lesson information.

Our instructors use music curriculum that assist students in gaining the skills and knowledge they need to reach their musical potential. To best serve our students, every student has a brief meeting with his/her instructor before lessons begin. This initial contact assists both the instructor and the student in getting to know the student's goals and objectives for taking online music lessons. Instructors will be able to give an initial assessment of the student's performance level and then begin to create an individualized program for each student.

Enhance Your Current Music Program

Band Directors and General Music Teachers love our classes as students receive access to world-renown musicians and music teachers - all via our simple online video conference tool. With minimal computer requirements, presentation screen and set-up, your students can experience the world of music right in their own classroom. Ideal for remote areas with limited teaching facilities and instructors, The Virtual School of Music ® can supplement your band classes, add to your current school curriculum, and provide lectures with handouts and quizzes - all without the cost of hiring another full-time music teacher!

The Virtual School of Music ® can provide group instruction (6 or more students) for schools and private groups that are looking to add a music curriculum or supplement an already existing program via online instruction. Our online instruction can be used to supplement a current programs by having a “special guest instructor” for your students, or provide a weekly scheduled music class to strengthen your arts component in the areas of music theory, music history, basic jazz improvisation or sectional workshops. Contact The Virtual School of Music office for more information on fee structures for group instruction.
