Jazz
pianist, Bruce Dudley, joined The Virtual
School of Music ® this summer. Known for
his excellence in musicianship, Mr. Dudley has
played with Herb Ellis, Marvin Stamm, Eddie
Daniels, Chester Thompson, Jamie Baum, and many
others. A dedicated musician and educator who
enjoys sharing music with others, Mr. Dudley
is known for his ability to bring out the best
musician in his students.
Jazz pianist Bruce
Dudley, a native of Rochester, New
York, received degrees in music from New York
University (B.S. Music, Business and Technology)
and Eastman School of Music (M.M. Jazz and Contemporary
Media). He has held college teaching positions
at St. Francis Xavier University in Nova Scotia,
San Jacinto College in Houston, and Middle Tennessee
State University. Bruce is currently on the
faculty of Belmont University and Vanderbilt
University in Nashville, Tennessee. He has performed
throughout Canada and the United States at jazz
festivals and in nightclubs, and has been heard
on National Public Radio and CBC radio and television.
Dudley toured the U.S. with Grammy-winning vocalist
Crystal Gayle from 1999 until 2001. He performs
frequently, “Live in Studio C”,
on WPLN FM 90.3 in Nashville and at the Nashville
Jazz Workshop. He has played keyboards with
more than a dozen national touring Broadway
Shows and has numerous recordings to his credit,
including his own trio recording, “Semblance”,
and Sandra Dudley’s “Close To You”
